Ofsted Inspection Report

Dear Parents and Carers,

It is with enormous pleasure that I write to share with you the final Ofsted inspection report from our recent inspection on the 29th and 30th November 2022. I am so pleased to say that Ofsted has graded our school as ‘Good.’ The report will be accessible via the school website and published on the official Ofsted report website.

Overall effectiveness: Good

The quality of education: Good

Behaviour of education: Good

Personal development: Good

Leadership and management: Good

Early years management: Good

'Graded inspections are carried out under section 5 of the Education Act 2005, and were previously known as section 5 inspections. In graded inspections, we use Ofsted’s full framework and grade the school for its overall effectiveness and against our key judgement (and any relevant provision judgement) grade descriptors.’ Guidance School Inspection Handbook

We are delighted that the hard work and high expectations that Bentham School staff and community have, has been recognised. You can clearly see this come through when you read the report, including the comments regarding our work and links with the local community. The report recognises the drive and dedication that all leaders and staff in school have in moving the school forward and making the relevant changes needed to adapt to deliver the best education we can for your children.

The recent changes to the curriculum have been clearly and purposefully planned by leaders and is inclusive of ‘all’ learners. This is something that we have always been proud of at Bentham School.

Please take the time to read the inspection report in full as it really highlights how great your children are and how well they represented themselves and our school, explaining our school values and what makes Bentham School unique. A nurturing family, learning together.  This is an excellent report, particularly at a time when the benchmark for ‘Good’ is at the highest level it has ever been. The Ofsted inspection was thorough, robust and professionally rigorous.

Yours sincerely Mrs McGregor and Pearson (Co-Headteachers)
