During this half term, the year 3's and 4's experienced an action packed adventurous residential at Nell Bank, Ilkley. Our coach departed from school at 9:15am prompt with a group of 28 excited children ready to experience what our visit had to offer. We arrived at Nell Bank just before lunch and spent some time exploring Middleton Woods; jumping in puddles, climbing up trees and generally getting very dirty. Throughout the rest of the day, we enjoyed a range of team building activies, den building and the children were absolutely bowled over by the ADVENTURE PLAYGROUND!
Later that evening, we became familiar with our doorms before we settled down to a fish and chip supper delievered by Grandad Nichols in Ilkley. We spent the night making lanterns and playing games before enjoying a hot chocolate before bed.
We were up early the next day, ready and raring for more adventures. After breakfast we spent the morning exploring the beautiful grounds at Nell Bank whilst using a compass to navigate round to find certain orinteering points. Before long it was time to say our goodbyes however our visit didn't finish there. From Nell Bank we walked back through the woods, stopping on the way for a quick game of 'Pooh Sticks', before stopping at Ilkley Park for some lunch. We then made our way up to the Manor House to find out about and explore the history of the Ilkley area. We found out about the Middleton family and the impact they had on the land around us before boarding the coach to come home.
The children and staff had an amazing time at Nell Bank and loved every second, even the weather didn't put us off!
