On Wednesday 3rd May Class 1 and 2 visited Old Holly Farm near Garstang. We were so lucky with the weather, it was a lovely sunny day and we got to take part in a range of activities. We visited the milk parlour and found out all about where our milk comes from and the sorts of food it makes. We then got to try some of the organic ice cream that is made from the farms milk. Needless to say this was a very popular activity! We got to feed the calves and make our own craft cows before going on a bug hunt to find out about some of the creepy crawlies on the farm. We met all the different animals including pigs, donkeys, alpacas and goats and we collected eggs from the hens. We also had some time to play in the play barn which was great fun!
It was a fantastic day and we were very, very proud of all of our children. The farmer's wife commented on what lovely, well mannered and clever children we have at Bentham school. We have some real farming experts. Well done Class 1 and 2!
