On Wednesday 22nd March, our newly formed Eco group were extremely honoured and excited to be invited to meet HRH Prince Charles during his visit to Broadrake farm, Ingleton. His Royal Highness was on his two day tour of the north of England when he visited the 17th century farm near the Ribblehead Viaduct. Our children spent the day working with the Yorkshire Dales Millenium Trust, beginning the planting of a wild flower meadow which we are hoping will become a new safe haven for wildflife in the dales. The Prince was so eager to talk to the children and find out about the work we were doing at the farm aswell as at school, he was keen to hear about our plans for a new planting garden within school and wished us luck with our development. The children couldn't let him go without presenting him with a Bentham school mug and tea towel, to which he showed great delight! We had a fabulous day; children and staff, and feel extremely lucky to have had such a wonderful opportunity.
