Today Class 1 and Nursery have had lots of fun playing in our ice cold outdoor area. When we first went outside this morning we discovered that all our boats were frozen in the water of our canal. We took on the task of freeing the boats, experimenting in different ways to get the boats out of the solid ice. Marley and George decided to investigate which piece of ice would melt the quickest, the big piece or the small piece, and chose to set up their own experiment. George had a cracking idea to draw around the pieces with chalk and leave them in the sun over lunch time. When they returned they found the big piece of ice was much smaller but the small piece of ice had disappeared. Great investigation!
